AMBULANCE MEN.

I have often wondered why the Auckland Hospital cannot provide work for some of the unemployed ambulance men. I was talking to a member of the Auckland Ambulance Division the other day, and he told me that about a tkird of his division were out of employment. Surely the Auckland Hospital should give ambulance men preference, seeing they are very well trained men. We have only to watch how they rise in an emergency to see that. These men give their eervice.3 to the public without any complaining or expecting any reward in any way whatever, and are always courteous and obliging. Some of these men cannot even get relief work, I hear. GOOD OLD ZAMBUKS.
