AUCKLAND CLUB. The Auckland Cycle Club's weekly road i races were advanced a further stage at Tamaki on Saturday, with a 205-mile handicap. The 44-mile to the lap circuit was used and was In good order. _ Ideal conditions prevailed. A Held of 13 were dispatched as follows: —J. Rollersou, 9.0; F Clarke, T. Davis, S.O; F. Lowndes, L. Devlin, O. Porter, 7.0 ; E. Hall, 5.0: S. Ward, 4.30 ; D. Storey, S. Kara, P. BickI nell, 3.30 ; K. Mathleson, 1.30 ; W. Pratney, M. Hlbburt, 0.30 ; E. Cleaver, scr. The placings were: —F. Clarke (S.O), 1; F. Lowndes (7.0), 2; O. Porter (7.0), 3: D. Storey (3.30), 4. Winner's time, 63.40. Fastest time was recorded by Ken Mathleson (1.30), In 58.5. MANUKAU AMATEURS. Under favourable racing conditions, the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club conducted its junior and senior road races on Saturday over Its circuit at Avondale South. The placed juniors were :—Jack It. Hall (30s) 1, E. L. G. Hughes (30s) 2, J. Brown (5.0) 3, L. R. Jepson (2.30) 4, R. Campbell (2.30) 5. Fastest time: —Hall, who took 26.56. Next were: E. L. G. Hughes 26.57, L. R. Jepson 28.59, R. Campbell 29.0. E. R. Hansen 31.12, J. Brown 31.28, A. Davies 33.54, H. It. Davies 36.25. Sixteen competed in the eight laps senior race of 20 miles. The race ended as expected, with Smith crossing the line 300 yards ahead of Thackwell, who used a free-wheel. Not quite a minute later Keith Clark claimed third place, having passed Brass on the eighth and final lap. Details: H. W. Smith (10.0) 1, C. D. Thackwell (10.0) 2, Keith N. Clark (2.0) 3: Alf. Itoblnson was fastest in 57.4, then came K. N. Clark, 57.9; A. Brass, 59.18; E. D. Andrews, 59.33; J. H. McLachlan, 59.36; S. J. Baird, 59.52; C. Hansen, 62.5; J. G. Morris, 63.7; H. W. Smith, 64.2; and C. D. Thackwell, 64.12. Smith finished 3.2 before Robinson. AUCKLAND AMATEURS. Under ideal conditions the club on Saturday again conducted two races, an eight-mile junior, from New Lynn to Henderson and back, and a 32-mile senior race from New Lynn to Kumeu and back. The junior race resulted:—K. Banks (2.0) 1, F. Johnson (2.15) 2, R. Bartrum (1.15) 3, C. Melville (scr) 4. Fastest time, C. Melville, 23.48; second fastest, K. Banks, 24.1; third fastest, R. Bartrum, 24.59; fourth fastest, F. Johnson. 25.50. The placed seniors were:—W. Crocker (8.45) 1, W. Pinker (scr) 2, G. Patrick (3.0) 3, H. Browne (scr) 4, C. Johnson (scr) 5. Fastest time: A. W. Pinker, lhr 39m Bs. Second fastest: H. O. Browne, lhr 39m 10s. Third fastest : C. Johnson, lhr 41m 495. TAKAPUNA CLUB. The Takapuna Amateur Cycle Club held two races nt Takapuna on Saturday. There were good entries both in the junior and senior classes, and in each race new records were established. The junior two-lap 7i miles attracted six starters and resulted :—O. Woods <4.30) I, A. Chaplin (2.30) 2, W. Carson (4.15) 3. Fastest time, B. Evans (scr), 22.14, a course record. The second fastest was won by O. McKee, (30s), 32.34. The winner's time was 24.46. Senior Four-lap Race.—This race of 141 miles was won by A. Lydford, out of 15 starters. The race resulted:—A. Lvdford (4.0), 45.3, 1; W. Crabb (4.30), 45.33 2-5, 2; B. Oliver (1.45), 43.35, 3; L. Coleman (1.45), 43.36. 4. V. S. Blomfield (scr) won fastest time, his riding time being 42.10 2-5, breaking the record by 1.1. The second fastest rider was O. Durvin (455), 43.9. PAPATOETOE AMATEURS. The I'apatoetoe Amateur Cycle Club held a 20-mile road race of five laps on Saturday. Road conditions were bad, and Morris, who was riding well, had a spill on the loose metal in the fourth lap. Results were :— C. M. Pinfold (Papatoetoe), 309 1 J. C. Bellini (Manukau), 30s 2 C. .Tones (Papatoetoe), lm 15s 3 Winner's actual time, 51.12.
