BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES.
STATISTICS FOR JULY. FEWER BIRTHS REGISTERED. Statistics supplied by the registrar of births, dea'ths and marriages at Auckland, Mr. Frank Evans, show that there was a big in the number of births this month compared; with the same period last year. In 1931 for the month of July, the birth registrations totalled 262, compared with 188 this month. For the seven-month period from January to July of last year, there were 1667 births and for the same period this year 1425, a decrease of 242. , No great variation was shown in the number of deaths. In July of last year, 176 people died in Auckland, while this month 162 deaths have been recorded. For the seven-month period last year, the total wae 1030 and this year 1094. Last July marriage notices totalled 127, and this month the total was 128. The total for the seven-month period last year was 1052, and this'.year 1011. Marriages by the registrar last July totalled 37, but this month 56 couples were married in the registry office. For the seven months of last year the registrar married 295 couples, and for the same period this year 276.
