NEW ROTORUA COURSE. . EXCEEDINGLY LOW. SUBS. As a result of the big,, improvements which have, recently been made to the Government grounds in Kdtorua lt'ttas been decided at a representative meeting to form a new golf club. The reclamation from swamp and scrub undertaken by the Tourist Department during the last two years has resulted in a fine stretch of grassland being made available for sports purposes, and those interested in the new club are enthusiastic ill the belief that a very satisfactory 38-holo course will ultimately be procurable. It is hoped, by the formation of the new club, to assist the Department in laying out aud improving the course. The new organisation will be known as the Moututara Golf Club. Officers elected Patron, Dr. J. D. Duncan ; president,' Mr. ('. Tapper; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Tai Mitchell and A. V. Merriman; captain, Mr. A. V. Merriman ; secretary. Mr. C. Anaru; treasurer, Mr. H. Martindalc; committee, Misses Hitchin, Johnson, and Ellison, Messrs. D. King, A Wood, R. Crawford, H. Martlndale, and C. .T. Casey. Subscriptions were fixed at 7/6 per annum for men and 5/ for women aud juveniles. ONEWHERO CLUB. Members of the Onewhero Oolf Club will play a bogey match on Saturday. The draw Is:—Mnrtin v. In the past several golfers playfns? on the Otorohanga links have been successful in holing out in one. The latest recruit to the "Plole-in-One Club" is N. Mcßobie. formerly of Auckland, and now living in Otorohanga. who. playing in the Parry Rowlanrl Shield contest, was successful at "Tiny Tim," 135 yards. Mcßobie proved the eventual winner of the shield, returning 74 jo—64. Mrs. Craig was the winner of the Parry-Bowland Shield for the ladies with 06—27—69.
