Alarming Conditions in Cities In Germany. STERN MEASURES ORDERED. (Received 12 noon.) BEELIN, July 13. Stern measures are to be taken in Prussia to check political clashes. The police have been ordered to arrest everyone illegally possessing firearms. Cabinet has appealed to the people to prevent the streets being increasingly painted in blood. Communists and Nazis fought in Cologne throughout the night. The latter were twice ambushed and 20 were wounded. TREASURE FROM SEA. MORE GOLD FROM LAURENTIC. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 13. Bar gold valued at £20,000, has been recovered by the salvage steamer Estdy from the lost White Star liner Laurentic, which was torpedoed off Donegal, Ireland, during the Great War. The Admiralty, from 1921-25, secured over £5,000,000 worth of gold from the wreck, but it is estimated that another £1,000,000 remains in the vessel. Divers from the Estoy were impeded by inclement weather and also by the great difficulty of reaching the gold embedded in the sand-covered wreck.
