REVOLT IN BRAZIL.

ANOTHER OUTBREAK.

Movement to Force Resignation Of President. REBELS CLAIM SUCCESSES. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 12.30 p.m.) SAO PAULO, July 13. There were indications on Wednesday that the rebellion against the Brazilian Government, which centred for four days around this wealthiest of southern cities, was spreading into a nation-wide uprising. Among these was a declaration from Pedro dc Toledo, head of the revolutionary movement in Sao Paulo Province, that the States of Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Geraes also had announced their adherence to the movement. De Toledo stated that the revolt had no other purpose than the resignation of the Provisional Government of the President, Dr. Getulio Vargas, and the substitution of a constitutional regime.

Kebel forces have claimed successes in the field.

The All-America Cable Company of New York announced on Wednesday that it had been notified by the Brazilian Government that communication to and from all points of the State of Sao Paulo was suspended.

Dr. Getulio Vargas assumed the office of President of Brazil on November 3, 1930, after a military uprising in various States, and the capital, Rio de Janeiro, had forced the resignation of President de Souza, and prevented the installation of Dr. Prestos, elected in March, 1930. National and State legislatures were dissolved, pending a revision of the constitution and electoral laws.

Each State in Brazil is organised under the Republican form of government, with administrative, legislative and judicial authorities distinct and independent.
