WHANGAREI CLUB, (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, this day. Four marksmen tied in the Checker Cup shoot held by the Whangarei Miniature Rifle Club. They were: A. D. Jack, H Ashton, F. Tebbutts and A. Cox, who, witli handicaps added, each with the possible. In the shoot off Ashton won easily. • The Buckley roosters for the best shnot off the rifle were won by H. Ashton (69) A grade, and O. Baker (62), B grade. The president's buttons were retained bv W. B. Stock and G. Simpkin. Highest scores in the Checker Cnp -were • G. Simpkin, J. I.illey, T. Caldwell, 69; W. Norris, Dr. Buckley, S. Lowe, H. Cowper G. Green, F. White, A. Doel, 6S; M. Stewart, C. Roberts, G. Baker, H. Edwards. P Hegley, G. Neville, 67; S. Clark, V. Dlckev, W. Stock, 66.
