! WELLINGTON MEETING. THE SECOND DAY. OKAPUA WINS AGAIN. FOREIGN QUEEN'S EASY VICTORY. (By Telegraph.—Ppccial to "Star.") TRENTHAM, this day. The winter meeting of the Wellington Racing Club was continued at Trcntliam to-day in fine though dull weather. There is a moderate attendance and the track is in good order. Fine Display of Jumping. The Mariri Hack Steeples saw High Heather, Royal Reign and Gaswyn lead early from Town Beauty, Hard Gold and Valves. A mile from home Royal Reign took charge, and was followed to the straight by Okapua, who wore him down to win by three-quarters of a length, with Town Beauty six lengths away. Then came Hard Cold and Valves. The raca provided a fine display of jumping. A Hot Favourite. Foreign Queen was a hot favourite for the Trial Plate. She led out from Ida Mcrling and Sham light, and the order was unchanged throughout, the favourite winning with ridiculous case by live lengths. Araios was fourth most of the- way, but failed in the last few strides, Ta'kakua and Irish Chieftain heading him. Left and Then Won. Kotaki Eka, after being left several lengths in the Seatoun Handicap, too'< the lead at the end of a furlong from Sanguine King, Cay Court and Night Recital. Kotaki Eka'held on. winning by a length. Sanguine King faded back to a moderate fourth, Gay Court outstaying Night Recital by a head for second place. The winner stayed on much better than on the previous day. The Hurdles. Pahu and Royal Visitor raced together well clear of the others in the Corunna Hurdles to the straight, where the latter wa« beaten. Henry-of Navarre then moved up, but Pahu beat him easily by four lengths.
