HARBOUR BOARD SEAT.
THIRD CANDIDATE IN FIELD. PREPARED TO TOSS COIN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Mr. F. J. Farrell, of Hamilton, announced to-day that he will etand for the vacancy which exists on tho Auckland Harbour Board. He intimated his willing-ness to participate in the toss of a coin to save election expenses in accordance with a suggestion reported yesterday. A report was published to the effect that a suggestion Tiad been mad© that to save the expense of another election for tho vacant seat, Messrs. A. Livingstone and A. S. Sutherland, the only likely nominees, should consent: (1) To accept the decision of local bodies; (2) to toss us to decide who shall withdraw; or (3) both to withdraw and allow the Minister to appoint a member. Mr. Livingstone agreed to any course being followed. Mr. Sutherland agreed to toss up only.
