INSURANCE OIiAIM DISPUTED. MOTION" FOR NEW TRIAL. A motion for a new trial of a civil action heard on May 17 last came before Mr. Justice Herdman at the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon. The application was brought by the Liverpool and London and Globo Insurance Company. On August 19 of last year a house owned by Mrs. Margaret Worthington, of Kaikohe, was destroyed by fire, and when a claim wae made for the amount for which the house was insured, the company disputed it on technical grounds. Mrs. Worthington then brought an action againefc the company, was successful, and judgment was given for £290. The company yesterday moved for a new trial, on the grounds that fresh evidence could now be produced as to the user of a benzine lamp.
