FARMERS' RESOLUTION. 20 PER.CENT REDUCTION WANTED. Hammond (Marton) said that the trouble was that the banks had made reductions on first-class accounts, but it was the second-class accounts 'if- winch required all the assistance they could get. There had been a meeting of overdraft-holders in Marton recently, and he could tell them it was a big meeting; The banks were dominating the Dominion at the present time. - Mr. H. M. Rueliwortli. M.P. (Auckland), said that the union was quite right in asking ■ the Government to bring the banks into line. It would come to a question of the Government or. the banks, and this would have to be settled. They would find that the Government would not interfere with the banks.
