LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. A CHANCE FOR CITY. SECOND GAME WITH DEVONPORT. Devonport, the leading team in the Auckland Rugby League championship competition, has an unbeaten record, and the other teams are very keen to spoil that record. In the first round of the championship, City made a close game of it with Devonport, and in view of the fact that, since then City have improved greatly, and last week scored a .big win over Ponsonby, fans expect that Devonport will have the hardest fight of the season to-morrow- in their second game with City. This is the star match at Carlaw Park, with Richmond v. Poneonby as a curtain-raiser. . The curtain-raiser should 'be a fast and interesting game.
