FIRE AT SWANSON.

RESIDENTS' "BUCKET BRIGADE." A dwelling owned and occupied by Mr. Edward Wilson, a farmer, of Swanson, was burnt to the ground early yesterday morning. Mr. Wilson was in the habit of leaving hie homo about five o'clock every morning for work on hi« farm, some two- miles distant. About 40 minutes after his departure yesterday an alarm of fire was raised. \ number of residents arrived and concentrated on saving the adjoining premises, a shop and dwelling owned an;l occupied by Miss Guy. A bucket brigade was formed, wit'i water supply from a tank, but as the flow proved insufficient to cope with the danger, the tank was gashed with an axe, and the residents eventually succeeded in saving Miss Guy's premises, although the building wa-s severely scorched. The dwelling was insured for £400 with the State Fire Insurance Office.
