PREMIER'S WITHDRAWAL.

APPRECI ATION EX PRESSE D.

Appreciation of the Prime Minister's decision not to lead the New Zealand delegation to the Ottawa Conference has been expressed by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. It was reported at this morning's meeting that the president, Mr. A. M. Seaman, had sent the following letter to the Prime Minister:— "While this chamber has made no protest on the matter, as'it does not wish to cause the Government any embarrassment in important policy' matters, the feeling was strong that the delegation as announced Mas larger than required and that the gravity of the local position was such that the Dominion should not be left without the services of its most responsible Ministers. Your action will, I am sure, be approved by the community generally. '
