Encouragement of Paper Making In Tasmania.
GRANT OF CONCESSIONS
(Received 10 a.m.) HOBART, this day. The. House of Assembly read a second time the Wood Pulp and Paper Industry Bill, which grants rights and concessions to a private company over 182,000 acres of land in Florentine Valley for the purpose of the manufacture of wood pulp. A paper company has undertaken to produce 00,000 tons of newsprint a year. The bill was referred to a select committee, whose report is expected next week.
