FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS BRIGHTENS UP. BANK OF X.Z.'S EASE FURTHER. There lias been a marked acccss of business on the local Stock Exchange since the week's quiet opening. A feature of the latest trading has been renewed interest in local body issues, and parcels of Auckland Harbour Board shares were included in the sales list. At this morning's call there was a steady inquiry in the Banking and Insurance sections. National Bank of New Zealand shares eased further, with a sale at £3. Mining shares were in fair demand, but Wailiis dropped another 2d with a sale at 14/4. In Government stocks 4%'s were asked for at £92 10/, and s%'s at £99 5/. The Noon Call. Although prices weakened for many stocks which had been over-bought last week, there was a healthy tone on the Sydney Stock Exchange to-day. Considerable profit-taking occurred at the end of last week, many speculators waiting until to-day before placing selling orders._ Buyers were inclined to be cautious in the hope that heavy selling would result in them securing stocks at good concessions. Banks were firmer today, but Commonwealth bonds were unsteady. The following sales took place:—Commercial Bank of Sydney, £17; Commercial Bank of Australia, 15/3; Bank of New South Wales, £28 15/; National Bank (£lO paid), £11 12/6; ditto (£5 paid), £5 12/6; Colonial Sugar, £46 5/; United Insurance, £8 2/6; Australian Gas, A shares, 117/6; Tooliey's Brewery, 19/3; Tooth's Brewery, 20/3; Howard Smith, 8/2; British Tobacco, 31/6; Fairymead Sugar, 23/1; Millaquin Sugar, 25/6; Dunlop.
