PRUNING CHERRIES.
The "Heart" cherries fruit on spurs formed aloug the blanches and fruit is borne on new and old wood. Last year's shoots may be cut back to three* buds
to encourage the formation of fruit spurs. Too free use of the knife with cherries often causes gumming, which is detrimental to the tree.
