"MUSIC OF THE DISC."

Felix Weingartner and the British Symphony Orchestra have made a fine recording for Columbia of the bcautifu Johann Strauss waltz "Voices ot Spring" (D0X237). This music is a kind %f distillation of the light happy, attractive works of Bach, Mozart, 1-Liyfri and Beethoven, and the famous conductor knows how to play it. Those of us who consider that tho popular "hits" of our youth are far superior to present-day music s hall dittwa will welcome a record (DOX2ob) on which Vesta Victoria, sings such ok favourites as "Waiting at the Church and "Daddy Wouldn't Buy Me a Lowwow." This should bo appreciated by both young and old. Gladys Moncrieff has recently recorded several" popular songs, "0 Promise Me and "0 Dry Those Tears" (both on DO4BC), "Sally in Our Alley" and "Violets" (D 0475), "I Was Dreaming , (made famous by Nellie Stewart in "Ma Mio Rosette" forty years ago) and "Hearts Desire" (D 0379).

Those who want something amusing should hear Regal 21252, whereon the Rhythmic Troubadours have recorded two funny numbers, "Ali Balm's Camel" and "I Like a Little Girl Like That."
