WITHOUT NOTIFICATION OR PERMIT. TWO MEN CHARGED AT THAMES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. Frank Len Phillips pleaded guilty before justices this morning to a charge of procuring a rifle without a permit. Hector Kwan McVeigh was charged with the delivery of a rifle, also with removing it without notification. The police evidence showed that both acted in ignorance. Phillips was convicted and ordered to pay costs. McVeigh was convicted and fined 5/ and costs 10/ for removing a rifle from Matamata without notification.
