WRIT ISSUED
Stevens Takes Action Against
Lang,
ALLEGED SLANDER,
SYDNEY, Juno 7.
The Premier of New South Wales, Mr. B. S. Stevens, has issued a writ against the ex-Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, claiming £5000 damages for alleged slander.
The action arises out of a reported statement by Mr. Lang that Mr. Stevens' transport policy was fashioned in such a way as to serve the financial interests of a wealthy bus owner, who, he alleged, was providing Mr. Stevens with a driver for his motor car during the election campaign.
