"There is not a tittle of truth in it. We would not dare do things like that," paid the superintendent of the Paparua prison, when asked whether there was any truth in allegations that several of' the men imprisoned for various offences during the recent disturbances in Christchurch were being hired out by the prison authorities to farmers. The allegations were made by the uncmulo»ed workers' movement.
