The New Zealand hockey team to visit Australia, leaving i„ the middle of next month, was selected in Wellington at the week-end. It is. understood that all the Aucklanders nominated have been selected, but the names have been withheld, pending definite acceptance of conditions laid down by the New Zealand Hockey Association. r> Th £ ?, omi , na tions from Auckland were: t4- -Tic ( N ? rth Shore), P. Anthony (North Shore), M. Bay (University), H. Jones (North Shore), F. Wellbourne (Somerville). E. Dunning (Rodney) was also nominated.
According to the selection, Auckland can furnish a full forward line, without altering the positions of the players, in T>. Reid (right), P. Anthony (inner right). M. Bay (centre), H. Jones (inner left), ¥. Wellbourne (left). Among other nominations were: T. Clark, a half-back, and T. Parker, a fullback.
