TROTTING.
THE WINTER MEETING. GREAT PARR.ISH BEATEN. MATTIE HERBILWYN'S FIRST. MAY LEAVE EPSOM. The Epsom trainer F. Smith is contemplating removing his team to Pukekoho, where suitable stables have been offered to him. At present he has the biggest team at Epsom in work, and, should he leave headquarters, his presence would be greatly missed. At Pukekohe he would be able to work his horses when he wanted to on the Franklin Racing Club's course, and in all likelihood he would take a galloper or two to prepare. In England Smith trained and raced both gallopers and trotting horses.
TWO FROM SOUTH. A yearling and a two-year-old are to be sent up from Christchurch to F. Smith. Both are pacers, but will not be taken in hand seriously till next season. NOMINATIONS ON FRIDAY. Owners are reminded that the Auckland Trotting Club's winter meeting requires attention on Friday, when nominations dose at 5 p.m. with the secretary, Mr. A. G. Mabce. DERBY NOMINATIONS. Owners of now yearlings should note that nominations for the 1933 Great Northern Trotting Derby close on Friday next with the secretary of the Auckland Trotting Club, Mr. A. G. Mabee.
