THE CONCLUDING DAY. AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME. THE FIELDS REVIEWED. The Great Northern : meeting of the Auckland Racing Club 'will be concluded at Ellcrslie to-morrow, and, with the. excellent fields engaged, another capital day's racing is promised. The Tamaki Steeples. The programme will open with the Tamaki Steeplechase, for which eleven are carded. Monetize ran a great race in the Green Lane Steeplechase, only being beaten in the last bit by Nassock, and he should again go well. Neil has shown ability over country, but he may be reserved for the Orakei Hurdle Race, in which he is also engaged. Town Beauty won the Hunt Club Steeplechase well and should be in the picture again. Carlaris was third in the Green Lane Steeplechase and Apache fourth. Royal Reign fell early in the Hunt Club Steeplechase, but he has schooled well since his arrival at Ellerslie. Day Lark and Jen may be the best of the others. A trio that may appeal are

TOWN BEAUTY MONETIZE ROYAL REIGN. The Hack Hurdles. I'acldon is top-weight in the Orakei Hurdles. He won well at Te Rapa and showed up lor a bit in the Great Northern J [urdles, but struck a hurdle and eventually baulked. He may no better in this Held. Neil is engaged in this race as well Ms the opening event, and if started may show up. Balloon should be improved as the result of His race in the Great Northern Hurdles. The public will probably go for FULL MEASURE PADDON HIGH COMMISSIONER. The York Handicap. A big field has been paid up for in the York Handicap. Historic put in such a Kreat run at the end of the King George Handicap, seven furlongs, on Saturday, that he is sure to be fancied with another furlong to go. Sunny Sky has won the two principal flat races at the meeting so far, and will again have support, for she is very well. Arikira is not too good at 1 !io barrier, while Prince Val has not raced for some time. Little Doubt was third in the Cornwall Handicap and Manawhenua won easily on the first day, though he was well back on Saturday. However, he is a good sort in the mud. The bracket Make Up and Landmark arc at "the head of the Winter Steeplechase field, and if started in this, in preference to the Campbell Hurdles, they will be in demand. Billy Boy ran a good race for about three miles in-the Great Northern Steeplechase and should be improved, (iareniore was third inithe Great Northern (Steeplechase} but is", an unlikely .-tarter. Nukumai also went well in the Great Northern Steeplechase till he fell the last time on the hill. Lucess won over hurdles on Saturday and is a good jumper. High Pitch was unlucky in being interfered with on Saturday, thus losing his rider. Luminary showed up for the best part of two miles in the Great Northern Hurdle Race. Arch Eagle was second in the Remuera Hurdles on Saturday., only-being beaten by half a length by Lucess.
