NORTHCOTE UNEMPLOYED.
MEETING EXPUNGES MINUTE. Statements alleged to have been made at a meeting of the Northcote Unemployed Association that the borough overseer had picketed men during the period of unrest, were inquired into at a general meeting of the association last evening. The correspondence was read and the president, Mr. D. E. Le Roche, asked that evidence in support of thu allegation bo produced. The former president and secretary. Messrs. C. L. Duke and F. H. Eades, were not disposed to pursue the matter. Discussion showed that the feeling of members was that the matter ehould be cleared up. Mr. Duke explained that all responsibility was disclaimed for uttering anything that could he taken exception to by The borough overseer. It was unanimously agreed that the reference to the matter be expunged from the minutes. Appreciation of the assistance extended by the- medical profession in connection with local distress was expressed, and a resolution carried conveying congratulations to Dr. J. W. Craven on his appointment as superintendent of the Auckland Hospital.
