ON THE MARIPOSA.
NEARLY 300 PASSENGERS. AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM. The Oceanic liner Mariposa arrived from Sydney this morning shortly after nine o'clock, with 288 passengers, of whom 108 were for Auckland. The Australian Olympic Games representatives, a party of fifteen, on their way to Loe Angela?, are travelling on the ship, and aleo a number of prominent Australian business men.
Mr. Stanley Crick, managing director of the Fox Film Corporation, has come over in connection with the firm's interests in the Dominion.
Mr. G. H. Heath, manager for Xew South Walee, and Mr. D. N. Trenery, manager for Australia and New Zealand, of the Atlas Aesurance Company, are going to Suva.
Among the through passengers are Mr. A. H. Tait, an official of the Brisbane City Council, Mr. C. P. Sellards, of the executive of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Company, and Mr. and Mrs. Bvron E. Wrigley, on a honeymoon trip. 'Mr. Evan Roberts, M.8.E., a Knight of Grace of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, is returning to London after a health-recruiting trip. He said tie St. John Ambulance Brigade in Great Britain was continuing to make great strides. One of the more humane works undertaken waa the establishment of an ophthalmic hospital in Jerusalem.
Mr. P. A. Morris, a director of Morris, Hedstrom, Ltd., Suva, vi making a business vieit to Fiji. He said copra had been a little better in price for a time, but had slipped back again. He expected a rise of 10/ a ton in the near future.
