COLONIAL GOVERNORS.
NEW APPOINTMENTS MADE,

RUGBY, May 27.
Sir Ronald Storrs, Governor of Cyprus, has been appointed Governor of Northern Rhodesia, in succession to Sir James Crawford Maxwell, who will retire shortly. Sir Ronald will take up his new position on the expiry of his present term in Cyprus in November.
Sir Reginald Stubbs, at present Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief, Jamaica, has been appointed Governor of Cyprus, in succession to Sir Ronald Storrs. Sir Reginald has had a long and varied experience of colonial administration/ After serving in the Colonial Office, 1900-13, he was Colonial Secretary at Ceylon until 1919, and Governor of Hongkong, 1919-26, when he was appointed Governor of Jamaica. In the present circumstances the Governorship of Cyprus has assumed particular importance, and it is understood that it is the special wish of the Colonial Secretary that Sir Reginald Stubbs should undertake the administration.
