POTATOES ARE DEARER. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) ' CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The potato market has firmed during the week. Prompts have been sold at ' £5 10/, f.0.b., s.i., Lyttelton, and June ' delivery from £o 15/ to £5 17/ G. To-day > ihere are buyers at the former figure and ■ sellers at the latter. Julys arc quoted at ' £G 7/6 and July-Septembers at £7 2/6 to I £7 5/. Values to farmers on trucks are i ■ £4 10/ to £4 15/. The hardening of the ; • market is due to Northern inquiry and quite a fair amount of business has been ■; done. The Wingatui, which sailed yeater- , day from Lyttelton. took approximately, ■ GOOO sacks. The next boat, the Waipiata, ' i is due to sail on Wednesday or Thursday, j ' Fowl feed is firm at 4/10 a bushel, f.0.b.,; ' s.e., for prompt. There is more business |j than usual. !
