Queen Mary's 65th birthday was celebrated to-day and at Home naval ports and bases vessels were dressed and flags were flown over public buildings. At London and elsewhere all saluting ships fired a Royal salute of 21 guns at noon.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, on behalf of the nation, sent a message to the Queen expressing loyal congratulations and affectionate birthday wishes.

The Queen replied to the effect that she was greatly touched and deeply appreciated the kind message.
