WEEK-END PRICES IN SHOPS. EGGS ADVANCE AGAIN. ALSO QUEENSLAND PINES.

Supplies of eggs have not been heavy this week, and in consequence the retail price for first grade has increased since last report. Quotations (to-day range from 2/6 to 2/7 per dozen for hen eggs, and 2/3 per dozen for duck. Butter, cheese, hams and bacon all remain unaltered in price. Supplies of oranges, mandarins, Californian. grapefruit, and Queensland pines all came to hand this week. Lemons are offered at 1/ per dozen. Naval oranges are offered at 1/6 to 2/ per dozen, and for Sunkist as high as 3/ is asked. Island oranges are selling at eight for 1/. Sydney mandarins can be got at 1/ per dozen. Queensland pines sell at 1/3 to 1/6 each. Notwithstanding the cold snap there are still some mushrooms about, for which 1/4 to 1/6 per lb is asked. Hothouse tomatoes are offered at 8d per lb, and hothouse grapes 6ell from 1/6 to 2/ per lb. White grapes are marked 8d to 10c! per lb, but Te Kauwhata are done. Ripe persimmons are offered at 1/6 per dozen. Quotations are as follow:— Eggs. Fresh hen eggs, 2/6 to 2/7 per dozen; duck eggs, 2/3 per dozen. Bacon and Hams.
