NURSES' DANCE.

Dixieland was never more beautifully decorated than last evening, when a number of nurses gave a dance to their friends. The hall was strung with quaintly-shaped Oriental lamps, and autumn flowers were profusely used in each cubicle, the tall palms giving the cabaret a fine effect. Blue, red and white streamers, representing, the colours of the nurses' capes, were twined across the supper tables, high vases of Iceland poppies with feathery foliage being placed at intervals as floral decorations. In compliment to the nurses the orchestra included in its numbers, "The Rose of No Man's Land." The hostesses for the evening were: Mrs. S. G. Masterman, in geranium red and ivory polka spotted ninon, and Mrs. T. Keenan, in black silk georgette. Among those present were: Miss. Turnstall-Ashley, pastel green ninon, with ivory chenille wrap; Mrs. 0. Butler, apricot and blue flowered ninon; Mrs. W. T. Cotter, claret ring velvet; Mrs. I. Jones, black ring velvet; Miss Mavis Wallace, flame satin beaute; Miss Thora Brodie, primrose floral satin; Miss Beech, Lido blue lace; Miss T. Lamb, duchess bluo satin beaute; Miss Fleming, deep green satin, relieved with pink sash; Miss Maria, apple green ninon flaked with silver; Miss Gilmour lacquer red silk moire; Miss Slater, apricot sou pie satin; Miss W. Ward, daffodil souple satin; Miss Dutton, briar rose satin, lace coatee; Miss Isobel Fleming, eau de nil satin; Miss Betty Keenan, ivory chiffon; Miss Bussey, duchess blue lace and ninon; Miss Nancye Cotter, emerald green georgette; Miss Bowman, geranium scarlet souple satin; Miss C. Howard, floral black satin; Miss Perham, pillar box red satin beaute; Miss Kingston, cream georgette; Miss Orris. Lido blue satin beaute; Miss Wakeham, opalesque blue satin; Miss Allen, gold embossed mirror velvet; Miss E. Reid, sage green satin; Miss Ashly, leaf green eouple satin; Miss Williams, shell pink flowered glace silk; Miss M. Bartleot, soft black satin: Miss Alexander, saxo blue ninon, inset with lace motifs; Miss Wilson, pastel pink floral taffeta; Miss Wall, ivory satin with scarlet and black embossed coatee; Miss Cameron, golden satin with ring velvet coatee; Miss Pottinger, gold lame over ninon; Miss Morgan, flowered glace silk; Miss D.
