FURTHER ECONOMIES.
BRITAIN'S ROAD TO RECOVERY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 23. The. Committee stage of the Finance Bill will begin in the House of Commons when Parliament resumes to-day after the Whitsuntide recess. Mr. Neville Chamberlain, Chancellor of the Exchequer, who has had a recurrence of gout while on holiday in the country, is at present confined to his bed, but he hopes to be back in the House some time during the week. Referring to the reassembly of Parliament, tile "Daily Telegraph" states that there is a growing belief that the outlook will have to be reconsidered in the autumn, when fresh economics and taxation may prove to be necessary. Accordingly the Government aims at completing the session early in July to enable the exodus of Ministers to Ottawa to take place. The new session will begin in October.
