The bobbed-hair, masculine type of girl, popularly known as the bachelor, is more subject to canc?" - than others, says Dr. John Cope, in his work, "Cancer, Civilisation and Degenerat'.on." He regards cancer as a FvmptoM of a degenerating age, and concludes that the prevalence will not be abated unless the predisposing causes, which are sociological, are removed. He adds that maeculmism in women, namely, splendid physique, mannish way?, and inhibited sex 'nstinrts, a;<; a mark of degeneracy paralleling effeminacy in' men. Under-developed female beauty which is now admired, in contrast to the Aphrodite type, is only gained by sacrifice of woman's special attributes, declares Dr. Cupp.
