TRANSPORT SALARIES.
"Disgusted Ratepayer's" letter in your paper is merely an echo of what the majority of the people are thinking', and it is a pity 110 did not include transport. A sum of £500 i 3 quite enough as a maximum salary these times, and when tram fares are so high and the losses in tho trams so enormous it surely is time that the board decreed that no salary exceed £500 until the service skows a profit. The Transport Board is composed of new members, and the fact that the old members were turned down in the last election proves that the public desires a change. „ NOW A WALKER.
