WAR ON SPEED.
EOTORUA PROSECUTIONS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) ROTORUA, Monday. In pursuance of the policy of preventing the speeding of motorists in the district, the traffic inspector brought several prosecutions before Mr. S. "• Paterson, S.M., this morning. Frank G. Malii, charged with negligent driving on Whaka Road by travelling at a speed of 40 miles an hour, was convicted and fined £2 and costs, 10/. His license was also endorsed. Walter Jeffrey appeared on charges of negligent driving and with driving without a license. He was stated to hn\e travelled 50 miles an hour on Wh<'k :l Road on Easter Monday. For failing to take out a license he was fined 10. and costs, 10/, and for negligent driving £5, and in addition was prohibited from holding a license until May 21, 1933. J. J. Murphy, who admitted speeding on Te Xgae Road to catch a train with a load of fish, was fined £2 and costs, 10/.
