WEST COAST SITUATION.
CONFERENCE ARRANGED. PRIME MINISTER'S TELEGRAM. MEN LIKELY TO RESUME WORK. (By Telegraph.—Fress Association.) GREYMOUTII, this clay. The Prime Minister ancl the Minister of Mines, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, have each telegraphed to Mr. P. J. McLean, chairman of the Grey Chamber of Commerce, stating that the coal owners are willing to meet the Miners' Council in conference as early as possible, and meanwhile the former working eonditipns will bo continued. Probably the men will work to-morrow. On receipt of official word from the owners a special meeting of tlie miners' council will be held, probably to-day, when it is expected arrangements will be made to resume work in the mines immediately.
