CREDIT BOARD.
GENERAL POSITION SOUND. FEW INSECURE ACCOUNTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. At a meeting of the Rural Intermediate Credit Board to-day the commissioner presented a return of arrears of interest and instalment as at March 31 last-.
It was stated that now that the production season has closed a comprehensive view of accounts shows that the position generally is sound, the number of accounts giving cause for concern being small in comparison with the board's total business. t It is reported that the board is arranging a conference to be held at Palmers-ton North on June 14 at which representatives from rural intermediate credit associations operating in Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa districts will be present. Consideration was given to the policy to be adopted in respect of insurances over wool and crops where the board holds security over such wool and crops. It was decided that where the board attaches importance to such security it would insist on insurance effected over wool from shearing until it leaves the farms, and over crops from harvesting until they leave the farms.
