MELBOURNE, May 2.

The presence of mind of a follow employee to-day saved the life of a Melbourne City Council worker, Timothy Kennedy, aged 52.

Kennedy wa3 buried beneath a fall of sand. His companion obtained a long piece of pipe and forced it through the sand, Kennedy grasped the chd, inserted it in his mouth and thus obtained air. The buried man lapsed into unconsciousness, but recovered when he was rescued.
