OTAGO UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. (By Telegraph.— Association.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. The Otago University Council at a meeting to-day adopted a report by the Professorial Board the effect of which will be the virtual abolition of the capping carnival as it has been carried out for many years. The graduation ceremony will be held in the first term, and the capping entertainment, which is all that survives of the carnival, must be held in the second term, and is limited to four nights. The capping ball as at present constituted has been abolished, 'but it may be resurrected under the control of the council. No procession or appearance on the streets in fancy dress, will be- allowed,'
