HEIGHT OF A 'PLANE.
ESTIMATES OF THE PUBLIC. AERO CLUB COMPETITION. Estimates ranging from 200 ft to 35,000 ft wero made in connection with the height estimating competition which was a feature of the Auckland Aero Club's display at Alexandra Park last Saturday. A 'plane took off, climbed, and when it was poised over the ground the spectators were invited to make an estimate of the altitude. In view of the success of the competition it will be repeated at an aerial display at the Te Rapa racecourse, Hamilton, next Saturday afternoon. The first prize, a radio set, for last Saturday's competition went to A. Wyllic, who estimated the correct height, 2135 ft, and the second prize, two free flights, was won by H. Clark, 156, Balmoral Road, whose estimate was 2130 ft. Other prizes, of free theatre scats, were won bv the following: H. T. Rockell, L. Beal, A. A. Horspool, Rex Smith, T. Greenhalgh, H. Keating, G. Boler, Miss M. Baildon, C Latimer, Miss N. Carlinc, R. Hollis, Mrs. Gray, and W. Cuthbertson.
