MT. EDEN BATHS' SUCCESS

MIXED BATHING POPULAR. Due in a large measure to the change over to mixed bathing, the season just closed at the Mount Eden Baths has been the most successful for many years, notwithstanding the stress of the times and the economic conditions prevailing, stated the report from the baths custodian to the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening. The public school attendance had shown a marked increase, being nearly 7000 more than last season. The number of school children who gained swimming I'crtilicutes was not available, but would be found to be a record when supplied by the secretary of the Public Schools* Swimming Association. Although 32.500 persons attended the baths during the season, there had been no accidents of any description. The takings amounted to £191 6/6.
