DANUBE COUNTRIES. League Summoned to Deal With Finance Problems. PROMPT ACTION NEEDED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 10 a.m.) RUGBY, April 1. The meeting of representatives of the four great Powers to make a preliminary survey of the Danubian problem and lay down guiding principles i'or the assistance of a later conference of the Danubian States, is to be held in London next week.
Owing to the gravity of tho financial situation in Austria-Hungary and Greece, a meeting of the Council of the League of Nations lias been summoned for April 12. This course was taken as the result of a report from the financial committee of the League, which recently met at Paris.
Messages from Geneva state that the report advances proposals for ameliorating the situation which demand the prompt attention of the Council of the League. BULGARIA EXCLUDED. FRENCH PROGRESS SCHEME. (Received 1 p.m.) GENEVA, April 1. The League of Niitions Financial Committee, dealing with the position of the Danubian countries, calls attention to the fact that Bulgaria is not included in the French plan, and accordingly may be isolated in future economic progress.
