MYSTERY DEEPENS.
Prosecution, for Theft of Simba Collapses. POLICE IN THE DARK. SYDNEY, April 1. The mystery surrounding the New Zealand racehorse Simba was intensified in the Redfern Police Court to-day when the case against Albert Norman McCoy collapsed.
Mr. Parker, who appeared for the owner of the horse, Mr. Guest, stated that defendant had told the police the gelding was left with him by a man named Twinan, and that the owner was perfectly satisfied defendant was innocent and did not propose to offer evidence against him. The police prosecutor said the police had been left entirely in the dark. Defendant could not tell them anything definite about Twinan and there were peculiar circumstances about the case. McCoy was discharged.
