COMMUNITY SUNSHINE.
A meeting of the ladies' auxiliary of the Community Sunshine Association was held at Sunshine House, Nelson Street, on Thursday afternoon, when the president, Mrs. W. S. Pratt, was in the chair. In reporting on the activities for the past month the president stated that the Napier children in camp at Motuihi were showing a marked improvement in health and much appreciation was expressed for the services rendered by the voluntary staff on the island. Donors of jam, fruit and vegetables wore thanked. Arrangements for the charity ball, under Vice-Rcgal patronage, to be held in May, are well in hand. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. and Mrs. Arnoldson for the use of their home for the recent bridge evening. Many ladies are busy making forget-me-not emblems for the forthcoming street collection day in May. The camp at Ostend has been occupied for the past month by mothers and their children who are in need of rest. Members of the Old Thames Girls' Association were present and were shown over the Sunshine school and expressed their sympathy in the work of the association: Miss Joyce Parker rendered two pianoforte solos. Afternoon tea was served by the social committee.
