CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.

AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. The Auckland Gun Club held its Easter shoot at Pakuranga on Thursday afternoon. A five-bird match was divided by D. Bwing (25yds). R. 11. Hartley (22yds), and F. McKenzie (22yds), nil shooting the possible. The second five-bird match was won outright by F. McKenzie (23yds), who shot the possible, nil first-barrel kills. The chief match was a ten-bird match for Mr. R. H. Montgomery's trophy, and some excellent shooting resulted. D. Ewing (26vds) and A. E. Maeredie (25yds) tied and" shot off for the trophy. Each shooter had to shoot another five bird's. Ewinfr shooting the possible, while Maeredie missed his second bird. This gav: D. Ewing the trophy, as he shot 14 out of 15 with the first barrel. The third five-bird match was divided between R. H. Bartley (23yds). H. Rao (21yds) and F. McKenzie (23yds), nil shooting the possible. A first-miss-out match was divided between R. H. Bartley (23yds) and H. Rae (23yds) on the seventh round.

Tho next shoot will be held on Saturday, April 0. when members will compete for Mr. A. E. Macredie's trophy.
