DAEGAVILLE URGES CHANGE.
Tie Dargaville Chamber of Commerce «as received replies from the Prime Minister ami the Minister of Public works to its suggestion that a saving « about f 1000 per annum could be made X tie running of the Tangowahine-Waio-tua section of railway if it were run on e Department. At present the £üblic Works Department controls the langowahine-Kirikopuni section, and the •Railways Department controls the secwon between Kirikopuni and Waiotira. •Mr. Coates advised that as a result of representations made to him by the Mayor of Dargaville (Mr. F. A. Jones) ne had taken up the question with the Railways Board, and he was hopeful tnat it would be possible before long to make the desired arrangement. jr \?
