HARD WORDS FIT.

TRAINING AT TAKANINI. GREEK GOLD'S GOOD EFFORT.. The inside grass track was in use at Takanini this morning and provided excellent going. I Envoy (Leach), Exaggeration (Gilmer) and Camp Princess (Taylor) were in that order at the finish of a mile in 1.49 3-5. Huntingdon' (Gray) and Night Warrior (McFarlane) were companions over five furlongs, which occupied 1.5. Huntingdon was under a strong pull throughout and then finished two lengths in front. Letitia (Edwards), Hauwhiri (Moore) and Timorous (Jones) were in that order at the end of four furlongs, the last three being run in 375. Greek Gold (Taylor) and Holly Lu (Gilmer) ran a smart half-mile, traversing the distance in 48 2-ss. Greek Gold was a neck in front at the finish. Pateena (Edwards) and Chief Jewel (Stewart) covered six furjongs in 1.15, the former going easily at the end. Palace (Craig) and Innuendo (Gray) completed five furlongs on the plough in 1.4. Gay Marigold (Moore) was half a length in front of Impudent (Jones) over three furlongs in 37 l-ss. Hard Words (Jones) established a three-length break on Arch Ruler (Gilmer) at the start of a five-furlong gallop and was steadied to keep with Arch Ruler, the distance being covered in 1.2 3-5. Hard Words is very fit. . . Imperial Prince (Mcllroy) and Principal (Taylor) were schooled over six hurdles. After hitting the first fairly hard, Principal went very carefully at the remaining five. Imperial Prince gave a good display.
