OLD THAMES GIRLS.

A social afternoon was held yesterday by the Old Thames Girls' Association in the Pitt Street schoolroom. Mrs. W. Lambourne, vice-president, took the chair. The meeting was addressed by Miss B. E. Carnachan, Dominion president of the National Council of Women, -who spoke of the wonderful movement taking place silently amongst the women of the world, as there were now forty million women members within the National Council of Women, who in every country of the world were working towards world peace. During the afternoon touching reference was made to the death of Mrs. Eountree, Mrs. Dare and Mrs. Greenstreet, all old Thames identities, who had passed away since last meeting.
