"MY WIFE'S FAMILY."
POPULAR COMEDY RETURNS. Auckland (or any other city) can never have too much of Gene Gerfard and Jimmy Goddcn, who made such a name for themselves in the fine British comedy, "My Wife's FamUy," which pleased local film audiences for a three weeks' season just before Christmas, and which will be screened for a short season,-starting to-morrow, at the St. James' Theatre. Jimmy Godden is the very personification of merriment and laughter. The eagle-eyed mother-in-law is a scream throughout the film, as are the various wives and alleged mothers who suffer and triumph by turns in the story. The plot centres round several couples, some married and some not, some in love and some not, and all hilariously funny. Mistaken meanings everywhere provide laughter, and laughter of a genuine note. Muriel Angelus, Amy Veness and Dodo Watts play the main feminine parts, and Charles Paton has a great characterisation in the role of Noah Nagg, a domineering husband.
