i North Island Lamb Commands

EXCELLENT QUALITY.

LONDON, March 8.
A display of 800 lambs from seven districts in the North Island of New Zealand, which were entered for the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board's competition, attracted much attention at Smithfield. Crowds of wholesale and retail buyers inspected them, and the consensus of opinion is that the quality and appearance are excellent.
The judges awarded the challenge shield for the best district to Manawatu. Prizes for the best pens were:—Pen of 47, Wairarapa, 1; pen of 20, Wairarapa, 2; pen of 32, Manawatu, 3.

NEW ZEALAND'S EXAMPLE
(Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 8. A consignment of 42 light motor cars of one single make are being shipped on the Rangitata. When they arrived at the dock Mr. Harold Mitchell, M.P., decorated tti.e first shipped with the New Zealand flags and with an inscription, "New Zealand's reply to Empire preference."
